New jobs created as NewAdventurelands opens for business
A local family business have bought out children’s play centre ‘Adventurelands’ creating new jobs for Newcastle.
Adventurelands in Benton Road, Newcastle, went into liquidation in January, but is now set to re-open as NewAdventurelands on March 21.
The soft-play centre was bought by the Goodwin family who have already begun an investment plan to upgrade play equipment and customer amenities.
The children’s play centre features a motorised car track, themed climbing frames, an indoor area for football, fairy castle and an interactive computer zone.
There will also be an onsite crèche alongside restaurant facilities for parents and child carers while a wide variety of parties are being developed as part of the improvement plans.
The new owners have provided new employment opportunities for local people with child-care experience and accreditations who will join the team as it gears up for the coming busy Easter holiday period.
A total of 18 new staff have been recruited including some of the previous kitchen staff
Owner and manager Tracy Goodwin, a registered child minder with over 11 years experience looking after children, had been looking for a new business venture for some time when she heard about Adventurelands’ liquidation.
Tracy’s daughter Emily, who has experience working as a party host, will be closely involved in day-to-day operations.
Tracy said: “We are a family business committed to providing family values.
“We have invested substantially to secure the future of this popular community venue and look forward to welcoming our customers through the doors.
“I know it’s tough times but we’re extremely confident that people will recognise the quality and value of what we’re offering and make NewAdventurelands a regular stop off for families looking for fun in safe and pleasant surroundings.
“It’s also pleasing to see new jobs created for local people and we very much look forward to seeing further recruitment as the business goes from strength-to-strength in the months ahead.”
