tadea certified to deliver advice for Green Deal
Billingham-based sustainability organisation, tadea, is now an accredited Green Deal advice organisation.
Certification means that tadea can work to deliver advice services for the government programme, which was launched in England and Wales on 28 January.
The Green Deal is designed to help people make energy efficiency improvements to their homes without having to pay the costs up front. Instead, the measures – designed to make properties warmer, more energy efficient and cheaper to run – are paid for by the savings made on energy bills which the measures help to generate. By the end of February, 1,803 Green Deal Assessments had already been lodged1.
There are 45 different types of improvements which are available under the Green Deal – covering everything from home insulation to heating systems and double glazing. The programme is open to both tenants and homeowners. Those on income-related benefits may also be eligible to receive some extra help.
Paul Dodds is tadea’s Strategic Operations Manager. He says: “tadea has just been certified by Elmhurst Energy Systems as a Green Deal Advice Organisation, enabling us to offer the advice service for Green Deal. This means we can help homeowners and tenants identify the most appropriate energy saving improvements to help cut energy bills.
“We will be helping people to obtain the finances required for home improvements through the government’s Green Deal, helping them to make their properties warmer and more comfortable at no up-front cost.
“The accreditation confirms our team of Green Deal advisors are giving good quality advice and are complying with all the government legislation designed to protect homeowners.”
