Lovell win £2.8m contract for Runcorn housing development

Cheshire and Wirral-based affordable housing firm, Lovell, has been selected to build a £2.8m new development in Runcorn.

Halton Housing Trust chose Lovell for the affordable housing scheme through a competitive tendering process, and the firm has just started work on the year-long initiative to build 33 new homes for social rent.

The development at Linkway, Runcorn, will include 18 two-bed houses, 12 three-beds and three two-bed bungalows.

Lovell’s regional director, Nigel Yates, commented: “There is a clear shortage of affordable housing for rent locally which this scheme will help to address.

“We are extremely pleased to be working again with Halton Housing Trust to deliver these much-needed new homes.”

Paul Mullane, Halton Housing Trust’s director of regeneration and investment, added: “The homes at Linkway are an important development for Runcorn and one of a number of schemes we are currently working on across the borough.

“We are happy to have the chance to work with Lovell again following the success of Houghton Street and look forward to how the scheme progresses.”
