Newcastle hotel gets £1.5m revamp
Newcastle’s Jurys Inn has undergone a £1.5m revamp, marking its tenth anniversary on Scotswood Road.
The 274 bedroom hotel is the latest Jurys Inn property to unveil its new look, which includes refurbishment across all bedrooms, public areas, meeting rooms and the bar and restaurant.
Jesmond-based interior design firm, Dakota, worked on the project, alongside Newcastle photographer Mark Slater, who was commissioned to provide the prints for the newly designed hotel foyer, adding a touch of local flavour.
The Newcastle upgrade comes as part of a wider refurbishment programme across the Jurys Inn group with over 1005 bedrooms and public areas having already received a complete makeover in 2012.
Jurys Inn has earmarked a total spend of £25 million for projects through 2012 and up to the end of 2014 as part of an on-going refurbishment programme, which has also seen a number of hotels refurbished in 2011.
The overall investment focuses primarily on refurbishments however, it also includes some IT and systems spend which will provide guests with improved comfort and facilities.
