North West offices to co-locate after BDO-PKF merger

Business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced its Manchester offices will co-locate after a merger with PKF (UK) LLP, which will see the companies operate as one from Tuesday.

BDO has also announced its senior management team in the North West, where Tim Entwistle, lead partner for the region, will be responsible for 300 BDO staff at its Manchester office.

Mr Entwistle commented: “The announcement demonstrates both firms’ on-going commitment to the North West and local businesses across the region.

“The merger will greatly benefit the region’s professional community. It will provide broader and deeper expertise and international reach for many clients on a local basis, but will also allow staff to gain broader experience from working in an enlarged firm.

“My focus from today is on ensuring a smooth integration of the two firms and continuing delivery of exceptional service to all clients.”

Mr Entwistle will lead the offices in Liverpool and Manchester while Jeff Jones will remain in his role as head of national advisory

BDO confirmed it will merge its two offices in Manchester by July this year and operate from the company’s existing base at Hardman Street in Spinningfields.

The two businesses will operate under BDO’s brand name across the UK and become one of the largest accountancy firms aimed at the mid-market in the world.

The deal will create a £400m business across 24 locations in the UK, and will see PKF join BDO’s $6bn international network.
