US health brand seek slice of UK market
US fitness health and fitness brand, ViSalus, is set to open a UK base in Guildford.
The Michigan-based firm plan to break into the UK health market, as obesity levels in the UK are in the top three globally behind Mexico and the US.
Co-founder and CEO, Ryan Blair, said: “The obesity epidemic is a global phenomenon. As the UK holds the unfortunate distinction of leading Europe in obesity rates, we feel compelled and excited to bring The Challenge to change more lives that are truly at-risk.”
Ros Simmons will become Vi (UK) managing director, and will be responsible for all aspects of the market, including field sales support, training, events and operations.
Previous to the role, Simmons was vice president of Global Brands at The Licensing Company, where she was responsible for creating strategies and implementing worldwide brand extension and licensing programs for Coca-Cola, Hearst Corp and Reckitt Benckiser.
