Top Asian businesspeople to be honoured
Top Asian entrepreneurs will be honoured at the 2013 Asian Awards this month, in London.
For the first time the Awards will feature nominees from the UK, India, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and other South and Far East countries, not just the South Asian community it had traditionally focussed on.
The event will be hosted by Lord Sebastian Coe, and will feature a panel of judges including Baroness Verma of Leicester.
She said: “The Asian Awards is an inspirational platform from which to celebrate some of the world’s most inspiring people.
“As Chair of Judges, I am delighted to preside over the judging process. To be working with so many esteemed judges to select the winner is an honour and I’m proud that the process is rigorous, transparent and robust.”
Award categories include Business Leader of the Year; Entrepreneur of the Year; Philanthropist and Social Entrepreneur of the Year; as well as recognitions across music, art and sport.
Asian Awards founder, Paul Sagoo, said: “This geographical expansion means that The Asian Awards can now truly live up to its name and celebrate global Asian achievement on an even grander scale.
“We had always planned to recognise the achievements from the global Asian community and this is an exciting time for The Asian Awards.”
The Awards take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on April 16. More information can be found at www.theasianawards.com.
