Hundreds of green businesses for Big Eco Show

Hundreds of businesses are expected to descend on the Centre for Life this Thursday 18 April to find out more on how the green economy can help them.

The Big Eco Show will bring together and showcase businesses from across the region and will focus on how they can grow and build their resilience within the green economy.

It is being organised by Daisy Green Media & Events and ClimateNE following the overwhelming success of the region’s first ever Big Eco Show, which was held last September in Sunderland.

Nicola Jayne Little, of Daisy Green, said: “Interest has been exceptionally high and we have had to release extra tickets and most of the workshops and speaking slots are fully booked.

The key note speaker, entrepreneur Tim Cantle-Jones, will talk about the importance of the green economy and explain how it offers a new way of doing business; co-operation and collaboration rather than conflict and competition. Building on the findings from a debate held at the first Eco Show last September, he will outline the opportunities for business, for the North East region and will invite thoughts on the collective vision of what the future will look like if we get it right.

Tim, of Green Deal Products, said: “I am delighted to be involved with The Big Show – the only place to be for firms wishing to gain inspiration and ideas around the emerging green economy to assist growth, to improve resilience to the impacts of the changing climate, and also to reduce costs by cutting emissions.”

Tony Mullarkey of Potts Print (UK) will give insights on how running a green business can bring commercial rewards and Lisa French who will talk about the importance of personal resilience drawing on her experience of being injured in the terrorist bombings in London on 7 July 2005, and how the lessons she has learned can be used to develop a resilient mind-set and resilient business.

The day will also feature the award-nominated ConnectFriday networking, workshops, a wide range of exhibitors demonstrating the growing number of green businesses in North East England, and a range of electric and low-emission vehicles to test-drive.

Ultimately, the Show is the only place to be for those wishing to gain inspiration and ideas around the green commercial opportunities to assist business growth, improve resilience to the impacts of climate change, and to reduce costs by cutting emissions.”
