UK car sales show resilience in European slump

UK car sales have shown some resilience as Europe-wide sales fell for the 18th consecutive month, according to figures from the Association of European Car Makers.

In March, UK sales grew 5.9%, while Germany posted a decrease of -17.1% and France, a fall of -16.2%.

Jaguar Land Rover and Honda were the only two manufacturer to buck the trend across Europe, increasing their sales by 13.3%, and 16.3% respectively, between January and March.

Alfa Romeo suffered a 29% fall in sales in March, and Lexus suffered a similar fall at 27%.
