Freedom Group lands £5m Yorkshire Water contract

Freedom Group, the market-leading provider of electrical and associated services, has won a £5m deal to provide the grounds maintenance framework for Yorkshire Water.

The five-year contract renewal secured by Freedom’s civil asset management business covers all geographical areas and most significantly, is the first time Yorkshire Water has issued a sole award for this work.

Grounds maintenance forms a key part of Freedom’s service portfolio, which is one of the largest providers of civil asset management services and security works to the utility sector, including Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Private Networks.

The long-term relationship with Yorkshire Water extends from 1986 when Ives Contract Services Ltd, a company acquired by Freedom in 2004, began work in a small regional area and is now the hub of a fully integrated national grounds maintenance business.

David Hartley, Freedom Group chief operating officer, said: “We have enjoyed working in the water industry and with Yorkshire Water over the years and are pleased to be in a position to do so for another five.

Freedom Group, based in Tingley, Yorkshire, is part of EnServe Group Limited, a key provider of infrastructure support services to the utility and energy sectors.

EnServe Group, owned by Cinven, works in partnership with a large number of commercial, public and utility organisations and operates from more than 30 locations across the United Kingdom.
