Patrick Parsons expands into Glasgow
Patrick Parsons Consulting Engineers (PPL) is continuing its national expansion with the acquisition of Odin Consulting Engineers – which has offices in Glasgow and London.
Odin – which has become part of the Parsons Group – is a civil and structural engineering design consultancy that has worked on a number of high profile projects across the UK including Edinburgh Schools Rollout, Indigo Hotel in Glasgow and Balcas Biomass Plant in Easter Ross.
Managing director of PPL, Peter Stienlet, said: “Odin brings with it more than 10 years’ experience in the construction industry as well as a fantastic team of experienced consulting engineers. The acquisition will present opportunities for PPL to offer services to other areas of the construction industry from the Glasgow and London offices - we’re already starting to work together on projects nationwide and I’m looking forward to the prospects on the horizon.”
The Parsons Group has enjoyed significant success in the past 18 months, with the opening of two offices in Huddersfield and Chester. The acquisition of Odin will increase the geographical reach of the group, which will now have a presence in Newcastle, Glasgow, Chester, Huddersfield and London.
It will also boost the number of employees to more than 50, with an annual turnover of more than £3.5m.
David Irvine, director of Odin – part of the Parsons Group – in Glasgow, said: “We’re really looking forward to being a part of the Parsons Group. I am confident that it will be a positive step for both parties. PPL has an excellent reputation within the industry and a fantastic project portfolio which it will be great to be involved with. Its ambitious management team has already built up a national presence within a few short years, so we’re looking forward to what the future will bring.”
