Rinicom praised by MP for Queen’s Award
Lancaster-based manufacturer Rinicom has been praised by David Morris MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, after the company won the Queen’s Award for International Trade.
The business, which makes video surveillance systems, unveiled the award on Sunday which it secured after its exports rapidly increased over the past three years.
Most recently, the firm announced its expansion into the Chinese market, whilst it also trades with countries in Europe, South America and the rest of Asia.
An announcement from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) said the company’s overseas sales have grown by 31% each year since 2010.
A focus on sales and marketing as well as innovation and adaptation have helped the firm to grow, according to BIS, while research collaboration with UK universities has supported communication systems design for the business.
Speaking from his office in Skerton, Mr Morris, MP, said: “Rinicom are based in the same building as I am, they manufacture and export high tech wireless broadband CCTV products worldwide.
“I have a particular interest in their work because I sit on the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee. This award is testament to the skills and expertise of the management and staff of Rinicom Ltd.”
Rinicom’s chief executive, Professor Garik Markarian, added: “Winning the Queen’s Award For Enterprise is a fantastic achievement for us and clearly demonstrates the international demand for cutting edge technology.
“Strong investment in R&D has enabled Rinicom to continuously innovate, enabling us to develop a full range of world class IP mesh COFDM systems. This has resulted in continuous export growth of over 30% per annum by revenue.”
