Small consultancy competes with giants for green award

A small Tyneside environmental consultancy is competing with industry giants to be named Green Consultancy of the Year

Terra Infirma Ltd has been shortlisted in one category of the BusinessGreen Green Leaders Awards 2013.

The small consultancy, launched by environmental expert Gareth Kane in 2006, is up against companies such as Pwc and the Carbon Trust.

The winner will be announced at a black-tie dinner in London on July 3.

Terra Infirma founder and Managing Director, Gareth Kane said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted.

“I made a strategic decision 4 years ago to compete with the biggest and best consultancies for the biggest and best clients.

“Since then we have helped leading organisations like the BBC, the NHS, BAE Systems plc, Johnson Matthey plc, East Coast Mainline, Viridor Waste Management and News International tackle the sustainability agenda.

“It goes to show that even the smallest business can punch way above their weight.

“In fact we use our size to our advantage, providing fast, flexible and effective responses to our clients – and we can use social media and webinar technology in a way which bigger consultancies struggle to emulate.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed.”
