Yorkshire planning seals permission for 400 Shropshire homes
The Yorkshire office of planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates has provided master-planning advice to Lioncourt Homes helping it to secure planning permission for 400 new homes in Shropshire.
Outline planning permission has been granted for the mix of two, three, four and five bed homes on Haughton Road in Shifnal, Shropshire.
The scheme will also include circa 52 affordable units together with a community allotments, medical centre and swimming pool.
Turley Associates Urban Design team provided master-planning advice, produced the Design and Access Statement that accompanied the planning application, and managed the extensive consultation with the local community and the Town Council.
Stephen Taylor, associate director in the Leeds office of Turley Associates and lead designer, said: “This is a strong design-led scheme underpinned by considerable support from the local community.
“Through a context driven process we were able to clearly demonstrate the benefits of the scheme to the local planning authority.
“This is a good decision for Shropshire, for the local residents of Shifnal and for Lioncourt Homes.”
Andy Faizey, strategic land director at Lioncourt Homes, added: “We are delighted with this decision. It will deliver much-needed new homes close to Telford in a great environment with first class facilities.
“Turley’s played a key role in this success and we look forward to working with them again. Stephen interpreted the brief correctly and responded to comments from all quarters.
