Business continuity specialist appoints high profile chairman

Business continuity and information security specialist Agenci Information Security (AIS) has appointed M. “Barney” Battles - former non-executive chairman of Enables IT Group PLC - as its chairman.

Mr Battles, whose strategic expertise spans over two decades in the UK and global technology, media and telecommunications sectors, has also held board roles with organisations including Omnicom, and 1Spatial plc.

His appointment as non-executive chairman will accelerate the ambitious goals of AIS whose client portfolio includes corporates and small and medium sized enterprises across wide-ranging sectors.

Mr Battles joins AIS as the team expands to bigger premises in Silkwood Park, Wakefield to accommodate further growth.

Said AIS founder Stuart Barker: “Barney’s powerful track record in driving businesses to the next level and beyond speaks volumes. We look forward to harnessing his expertise to turbocharge our goals.”

Mr Battles commented: “The breadth and depth of knowledge, experience and sound business sense of the AIS team impressed me so much I wanted to both invest in the company and join its board to play a key role in achieving its targets.”

The AIS team includes MD Gary Hibberd, former business continuity manager at Laterooms.com, director Alan Cook, who has held senior positions with global financial and retail organisations - and sales and marketing director Rachael Bateson who has extensive experience in the leisure and tourism sectors.
