New head of construction brings new pricing model
Samuel Phillips Law Firm has appointed a new solicitor to continue development of its Construction Law practice.
Kevin Anderson, who has recently joined the Newcastle-based law firm, is widely experienced in all areas of Construction Law, as well as Insolvency and Commercial Litigation. He will lead the Construction Law team, working closely alongside Samuel Phillips’ established Business Law team to provide a total service to the company’s construction clients.
Kevin said: “I was extremely keen to join Samuel Phillips. The company has an impressive existing client base, and a very good reputation for the service it gives its clients. Samuel Phillips has taken shrewd decisions to keep its overheads low, and therefore is offering clients a competitive deal, which is vital in the current climate.”
Kevin is currently investigating new pricing models for Construction Law which he says will give clients greater confidence and control. Initially, the firm is introducing a Fixed Price for Adjudication cases. He commented: “We have consulted with the construction industry to develop a pricing model which will give them much-needed certainty about legal fees. The benefit is that it enables a construction firm to conduct a full commercial analysis before pursuing litigation.”
Robert Gibson, Managing Partner of Samuel Phillips Law Firm, added: “Kevin is not only a gifted and experienced solicitor. He also has a strong understanding of the current market pressures for Construction firms which can lead them to shy away from seeking legal assistance, often when they need it most. Kevin’s expertise and understanding enables him to work closely with them, and to tailor Samuel Phillips’ services to suit the client best.”
Kevin, 37, was born and brought up in Newcastle, completing his law degree at Newcastle University. His career has since involved him working in Construction Law teams in Leeds and Newcastle. He lives in North Shields with his wife and two young children. Having competed in swimming and athletics when younger, he is now returning to training with the aim of participating in an Iron Man challenge in 2014.
Samuel Phillips offers a comprehensive range of legal services to business and private clients. For any further information, please see www.samuelphillips.co.uk.
