New Appointment at Recruitment Firm

FAST-GROWING recruitment business CY Partners has taken on another consultant to join its five-strong team to assist with increased demand for its specialist services.

Based in Newburn, the independently-owned consultancy, which specialises in selecting candidates for complex roles in the oil & gas, scientific, technology and healthcare industries, has hired recent Newcastle College graduate Tom Kirkpatrick as a Resourcer.

Now in its fifth year, CY Partners has experienced significant growth on a national level with over 170 clients using its services to find niche staff.

Daniel Younger, Director at CY Partners, said: “Over the last year, we have tripled our turnover and moved into bigger and better premises. It is this success that has given us a solid platform to invest in the business and recruit more local talent. Our aim is to hire another five staff before the year is out.”

Younger continued: “With demand for our services at an all-time high, we knew we had to bring in more expertise, Tom has proved a perfect fit for our team to help source and attract high-quality candidates for all of our job opportunities. With his degree in Biotechnology, he understands the industries we operate in, inside out.

“He has proven experience in working with local Universities, using specialist job boards and social networking sites to track to down those hard to reach candidates.

26-year-old, Kirkpatrick, who had worked as a support worker for three years before joining CY Partners, said: “I’m thrilled at my appointment at CY. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time in care, I felt it was time to push myself into an even more challenging role which could utilise my knowledge of and passion for science, and saw this as an ideal role.

“I applied due to the scientific nature of the business and the fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is a company that is going places, and I’m very much looking forward to developing my role and using my unique background and skill-set to offer something a little different.”

Established in 2008, CY Partners is owned by Daniel Younger and Probier Chatterjee who together have over 25 years’ of industry specific recruitment experience. The team works with companies that require suitable candidates for unusual or very specialist roles.

It primarily operates within the pharmaceutical, oil & gas, chemical, FMCG, medical device and engineering sectors and its portfolio includes: SCM Pharma, Johnson Matthey, Geneius Laboratories, The Specials Laboratory and Leica Biosystems.
