Manufacturing consultant appointed to lead EEF Yorkshire unit

EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, has appointed specialist manufacturing consultant Linda Harrison to head up its new Manufacturing Growth unit, covering Yorkshire.

The new unit is aimed at helping manufacturing companies in Yorkshire to grow by improving their efficiency and effectiveness. This service is focused on those manufacturers that cannot gain Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) funding due to their size or connections with a larger group, but the team will also deliver MAS-funded offerings.

Linda will be joining EEF’s business services team and advising member and non-member companies to help them improve productivity, quality and delivery in a wide range of manufacturing sectors.

With 20 years’ experience in leadership and production and operations management, Linda was also previously a part-time lecturer in Production and Operations Management at the University of Teesside.

Linda is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and recently implemented a 5S programme at Stanlow and Ellesmere Port, involving over 500 people.

Her previous roles have included associate consultant Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Process Insight Consulting Ltd and business improvement manager at Hertel UK Ltd.

Dr Steve Chicken, EEF’s manufacturing growth director said: “We are pleased to welcome Linda to the team. This new EEF offering complements the Manufacturing Advisory Service and ensures that a broad range of efficiency improvement support is available to manufacturers in Yorkshire, be they small or large.”
