Homecare business unveils expansion in the North East
Following their continued success Heritage Healthcare, a leading provider of home based care, has unveiled its ambitious expansion plans that will see it offering attractive business and employment opportunities in the North East.
The company has launched a franchising division and is looking for committed, ambitious and motivated people in the North and South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham areas who have the desire to own, operate and develop their own business and would like to join it in providing excellent quality care that enables people to enjoy independent lives in the comfort of their own home.
Company directors Glenn & Sally Pickersgill, Michelle Fenwick and Amanda Jackson have over 50 years’ experience in the homecare sector.
Glenn Pickersgill managing director of Heritage Healthcare, a leading homecare provider in the North East and York, said: “At Heritage we believe we are in a strong position to expand the business through franchising. We have an in-depth understanding of the market. As a result we will be able to offer the experience, knowledge and training needed to enable entrepreneurial individuals to develop a successful homecare business, based on an established model.”
Homecare is one of the biggest growth sectors in the UK There are 10 million people in the UK aged 65-plus (one in six of the population).
The latest projections are that this will increase by 5.5 million in the next 20 years and nearly double to about 19 million (one in four of the UK population) by 2050.
The current cost to the State for elderly care is more than £20 billion a year and Government policy is focusing on reducing the demand for residential care and enabling older people to be supported and cared for in their own homes for as long as possible.
Sector forecasts demonstrate that as a result there will be an increased need for good quality homecare. The Heritage Healthcare franchise division will be at the forefront of meeting that demand.
Mr Pickersgill added: “We believe the elderly demographic in the North East reflects the national picture. The numbers for the very old – those over 80 – are growing faster than any other group. These are often among the most vulnerable in our society and they deserve the very best care.”
Each Heritage Healthcare franchisee will receive a territory that is protected and offers the potential for substantial growth during the term of the agreement. Each franchisee will have a minimum of 100,000 people in their designated area which will also generate vast employment opportunities.
A Heritage Healthcare franchisee will arrange for carers to assist people in their own homes with practical and personal tasks. This may be for a short while, after an accident or an illness, or it might be long term due to age, disability or other health problems.
They will also offer Supported Living services to people with physical disabilities or learning difficulties. This includes helping people go to work, attend a day centre, participate in leisure activities or visit the shops.
The franchise package will include:
- Full use of the Heritage Healthcare business brand and identity
- In depth training for franchisees and key staff members
- Full onsite setup assistance
- Assistance in Care Quality Commission and United Kingdom Homecare Association registration
- Assistance with producing a business plan and raising finance
- Support with contract tendering and staff recruitment
- Ongoing advice and support to help run an effective business
Heritage Healthcare will be exhibiting at The British Franchise Exhibition on 21 & 22 June 2013 at Manchester Central.
