Sir Isaac honoured as Pitman Training becomes superbrand
Wetherby-based Pitman Training is celebrating a great start to the year, and the 200th anniversary of Sir Isaac Pitman, having just been recognised as a ‘Superbrand’ in the prestigious league table charting the UK’s strongest brands.
In the recently announced results, Pitman Training shared the bill with Apple, British Airways and Google, having been listed in the Business Superbrands list, which showcases the UK’s strongest B2B brands.
Pitman Training has been synonymous with office-based training since Sir Isaac Pitman invented shorthand in 1837, and the company now helps thousands of students each year progress their careers through tailor-made study programmes and Diplomas with one-to-one support at over 100 local centres, as well as via online courses, and short seminars to help top up skills.
Superbrands commissions independent research and their annual league tables are based on the opinions of marketing experts, business professionals and thousands of British consumers.
Pitman Training, which has been recognised in the Executive Education,Training & Development category of the 2013 Superbrands, last year celebrated 175 years as a training provider and launched its ‘Training the Nation’ campaign, a year of activities aimed at encouraging the UK workforce to up-skill.
Claire Lister, MD of Pitman Training said: “Sir Isaac Pitman is a name that’s well regarded, and we’re proud to be carrying on his work.
“We take great pride that we have helped generations and the brand does have great heritage but it is also still highly relevant today.
“I believe that in a great brand, the name, actions, work and reputation of the company are all in sync and that both customers and non-customers know what to expect from it and understand clearly what it offers. I truly believe Pitman achieves this.”
