Double Awards Success for Leicestershire Companies’ Projects
Two Leicestershire based firms’ projects have enjoyed success at the recent British Council for Offices Awards 2013. The companies, Abtec Network Systems and Abtec Building Technologies, two sister organisations, were major contributors to two award winning entries. The British Council for Offices awards celebrate top quality design and functionality in the workplace. The winning projects that these local companies worked on were National Grid’s new office at Castle Donington, and Siemens’ The Crystal in London.
The companies were integral to both projects. Abtec Network Systems provided the IT and communications infrastructure for the National Grid’s office. This complex project involved providing the internal IT networks, telephone and video conferencing systems, all of which needed to support the National Grid’s flexible working policies. Abtec Building Technologies, one the UK’s leaders in smart building technologies, provided the lighting and environmental controls that help make Siemens’ The Crystal one of the greenest buildings in the world.
Andy Beynon, managing director of both Abtec Network Systems and Abtec Building Technologies, comments, “It’s fantastic to see our clients doing well at these awards and to feel that we’ve contributed to their success. Both projects demonstrate our technological expertise and are enabling these businesses to reduce their costs and carbon footprint.”
