Acquisition announced by Harold Stock & Co.
Tameside law firm Harold Stock and Co. Ltd. (Harold Stock) has announced its acquisition of Stockport firm, Jones Gough LLP (Jones Gough).
The acquisition of Jones Gough, best known for its personal injury practice, is part of a longer-term growth strategy by Harold Stock, and will enable the firm to better support its existing south Manchester client base, whilst expanding the range of legal services available at the Stockport office.
Jones Gough will retain the name and continue to trade from its Buxton Road head office. The firm will be managed by existing Harold Stock joint managing directors Karen Kenyon, James O’Donnell and Darren McGuinness. Darren McGuinness will relocate permanently to the Stockport office, with James O’Donnell and Karen Kenyon rotating between Stockport and the firms’ other offices in Failsworth and Mossley. Former managing partner of Jones Gough, Mark Gough, will remain a consultant to the firm.
Darren McGuinness commented:
“Jones Gough is a long-standing, successful Stockport business. Acquiring the firm gives us a springboard from which to launch our ambitious expansion plans, whilst continuing to support our existing client base in the region.
“We plan to extend the range of legal services on offer at the Stockport office, and my co-managing directors and I look forward to introducing our particular brand of friendly and approachable legal services to clients across Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire.”
