Mum's the word as Kristy clinches new contracts
An award-winning Tynedale business has clinched a number of new exclusive contracts as it continues to grow and increase its services.
New Mum, Kristy Giblin, runs Simply Bows and Chair Covers across the West Northumberland and Cumbria regions, specialising in quality chair covers and linen for weddings, balls and corporate events.
The company- the current holder of the British Chamber of Commerce Most Promising New Business accolade- has just announced the expansion of its services and now provides hotels and restaurants with daily table linen and napkin hire to use in their dining rooms, as well as for special events, as more restaurants and hotels look to outsource specific services to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Kristy, who launched her franchise in 2010 and has completed hundreds of events across the region, was named Best Small Business in the Tynedale Business Awards held earlier this year, just weeks after having her first baby.
In addition, Kristy- who gave birth to baby Anya in January- has secured contracts with Heather Glen Country House in Ainstable Village, Cumbria Park Hotel in Carlisle and The Beaumont Hotel in Hexham to be included in their exclusive wedding packages.
As well as these hotels, Simple Bows and Chair Covers works with venues including Greenhill Hotel in Wigton, Tullie House in Carlisle and Roundthorn Country House Hotel in Penrith and is the preferred supplier at many exclusive venues.
In the last year alone, demand for Simply Bows and Chair Covers’ services has more than doubled and Kristy now has a team of five working for her in the Cumbria and West Northumberland regions with plans to grow this in the coming 12 months.
Kristy said: “There seems to be an ever-increasing demand for our services which are cost-effective but can transform an event or venue to make it extra-special. The events and weddings sector is booming across the Cumbria and West Northumberland regions which are home to some of the most stunning and varied locations. I’m really pleased to now be working so closely with some prestigious venues and to have secured exclusive contracts to help build my franchise which fits well into my new lifestyle since becoming a Mum.”
Sarah Pittendrigh, from Northumberland, established Simply Bows and Chair Covers in 2008 and now has 12 franchises all over the UK and has so far this year added two new franchises in Essex and North Northumberland- with more in the pipeline.
