Fast-growing Evolution gearing up for an industry first

A TEES Valley accountancy firm has been shortlisted for two categories in this Year’s North East Accountancy Awards.

Evolution LLP, based in Wynyard, has been shortlisted for the Independent Firm of the Year title at the prestigious awards – the title it won last year after just two years of trading.

As well as battling to become the only firm to win that title two years in a row, the practice has also been shortlisted for the Accounting and Finance Employer of the Year award.

The North East Accountancy Awards are hotly contested by firms across the region, including some of the UK’s biggest accountancy players, although Evolution is the only Tees Valley firm shortlisted in any of the categories.

Evolution was founded in July 2010 and has since grown its team significantly, broadening its service offering and client base in the process.

Over the last 12 months the company has developed several new service areas including its online accounting solution, eTime, and taken on seven new members of staff – with more expected to follow in the coming months.

Last year, as well as picking up the Independent Firm of the Year title, its managing partner Martin Barber was nominated and shortlisted in the finals for Tax Advisor of the Year award.

The firm’s excellence as an employer is highlighted by its high staff retention rate which is built on a structured HR strategy, mentoring programme, appraisal system and hugely attractive benefits package.
