McCauls secure New Islington project in Manchester
Property firm McCaul Developments has secured a new development in Manchester city centre at the New Islington regeneration project.
The Astley-based business will work on Phase One of the build, which includes 23 apartments and six townhouses at The Point in New Islington.
McCauls submitted plans for Phase Two of the £16m project in a bid to extend its presence in the North West and Manchester property market.
The first stage of construction is expected to finish in August this year when Phase One will be unveiled, with prices starting from £110,000 for a one bedroom apartment.
The business has also won approval from the Government’s ‘Help to Buy’ scheme, which supports first time buyers and existing homeowners in buying a property with a 5% deposit and up to a 20% equity loan.
Sean McCaul, director, commented: “The development will provide contemporary and high spec homes in what is quickly becoming one of the most distinctive and diverse neighbourhoods in Manchester.
’Furthermore we are delighted to received Help to Buy approval for The Point. The new government scheme will provide a much-needed shot in the arm for the house building sector and offers an excellent incentive for people to get onto and move up the property ladder.“

The New Islington scheme is one of a string of developments that McCauls has in the pipeline, including projects in Astley, Manchester and St Helens.
