Teesside grease management specialists score Baltic contract

Stockton-based Cleveland Biotech (CBio) is celebrating a significant Baltic sales order of its pro-biotic fluids and patented bio-fluids.

The manufacturers of fluids for use in cleaners has secured a contract to supply a Lithuanian firm with 17,000 litres of fluid.

CBio are hoping the move will bolster their presence in the Baltic region, as neighbouring countries such as Latvia and Belarus are showing keen interest in the products.

Dr Tony Brooke, development director, explains: “Probiotic cleaners don’t use harsh chemicals to protect surfaces; rather they use ‘good’ bacteria to fight the ‘bad,’ pathogenic bacteria and can keep surfaces clean for up to 8 days. The UK market is slowly coming around to the power of these products but the Baltic states are way ahead with probiotics poised to overshadow traditional products on the shelves.”

“The Lithuanian sales have been a welcome boost to our sales figures; in fact this single order saw our European exports double and has added a considerable percentage increase to our overall wholesale figures. As well as interest from Latvia we are also well positioned to break the Russian market.”

“The next step is for our products to lead the UK probiotic cleaning revolution. We believe they can take pride of place in the cleaning aisles next to well known brands such as Cif, Mr Muscle and Cillit Bang. Our products work just as well as the competition, but crucially they are more environmentally friendly and longer lasting. All issues which modern consumers look for in their cleaning products.”
