Fit Training secures Rathbone UK contracts
One of the north east’s leading fitness training providers Fit Training, with training hubs in Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland and Middlesbrough, has announced the renewal of two vital contracts with voluntary youth sector organisation Rathbone UK, for Government funded apprenticeships.
The news comes after Fit Training’s success rate was assessed by the Apprentice Contract Management Team this month, who confirmed that 97% of Fit Training apprentices had completed all of their qualifications and had gone on to work placements, with 100% success rate on intermediate apprenticeships. The national average is just 76%.
The contract renewal for pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programmes for 16 to 24 year olds means that Fit Training will continue to offer apprenticeships for young people of all abilities, from Level 1 Fit Life pre-apprenticeships and Level 2 Gym Instructor apprenticeships to Level 3 Personal Training apprenticeships, which are A Level equivalent. This will offer more opportunities for hundreds of young people across the north east to realise their goals of a long term career in the fitness industry.
The Rathbone contracts will include the new Traineeships which will replace the Access to Apprenticeship programme, a change following the recent Richard Review of Apprenticeships. The Richard Review was spearheaded by Dragon’s Den panel member Doug Richards, who called on the Government to improve the quality of apprentice programmes and make them focused more on the needs of employers.
As well as vital training before apprentices enter the workplace, the new Fit Life Traineeships programme offered by Fit Training will help young people with their Maths and English, CV writing and how to prepare for an interview with prospective employers. These are all essential skills for future employment.
Janet Reveley, Managing Director at Fit Training, commented: “Our growing team of tutors have worked continuously to ensure young people get the best training and motivation to ensure they qualify with a bright future ahead of them in the fitness industry. Rathbone’s renewal of both Level 1 and Level 2 apprenticeship programmes will ensure more opportunities for young people across the region.
“In the last year alone, we have seen a large percentage of our apprentices find employment and we hope their success stories will inspire other young people to find out more about how they can achieve their career goals, especially if they have an interest in sport and fitness.”
