Infinium IT win DJ Chris Evans CarFest deal
A North West IT firm has secured a deal to provide Wi-Fi networks to over 50,000 people attending car festivals in Cheshire and Hampshire.
Infinium IT is set to provide public networks at the ‘CarFest’ event, which is organised by BBC Radio 2 DJ, Chris Evans.
Held at Oulton Park in Cheshire and Laverstoke Park in Hampshire, the two events hope to raise £1.5m for Children in Need with the help of Infinium IT, who plan to donate all their anticipated £60,000 of Wi-Fi subscriptions during the festival to the charity.
The firm will provide internet cafes at both sites and secure Wi-Fi networks for the event organiser and companies trading at the festival.
Peter Miles, Infinium IT’s managing director, commented: “As an avid Radio 2 Breakfast show fan I listened with interest as the festival unfolded on the radio.
“And after seeing what a success it had been I wrote to Chris Evans saying we would love to be involved if they did it again, and would love to provide our Wi-Fi services.
“As it is a charity event we offered to provide our services free-of-charge and we’ve also donated two Wi-Fi Small Business packages worth a total of £10,000 to the public auction.
“It’s great for us to be involved in a project of this size as we continue to carve out a great reputation for the services we provide in the leisure and hospitality industry.”
