Gateshead digital firms win at major industry awards
Two Gateshead-based firms were commended at a major northern digital industry awards event.
Big Chip Awards commendations went to Gospelware for the Best Mobile project and Best Application of Technology categories, and Fueled were handed the Best Use of Brand in Digital award.
Overall winners on the night were Sheffield’s Tuna Technologies who won Best Use of Visual Design and Best Use of Gaming for Eufloria, a real-time strategy video game set in futuristic space environment.
This year’s awards took place in the Palace Hotel in Manchester and attracted attendees from 127 Northern digital and creative organisations.
A judging panel chaired by Michael Nutley included BBC commentator and journalist Bill Thompson; Emma Jenkins, CMO of GiffGaff; Herb Kim, founder of Thinking Digital and Wired journalist Daniel Nye Griffiths.
The Big Chip Awards are organised by Manchester Digital, an independent trade association for digital businesses in the North West.
