Quba restructuring led by North West law firm
North West law firm SAS Daniels’ corporate team has advised on the restructuring of a South Devon-based clothing manufacturer’s management team.
Quba is a nautical-inspired clothing firm, and brought in a new senior management team as part of a recent buy-in.
Investors have acquired the business where former Harrods director, Nick Allen, will become chief executive, ex-Ernst & Young and HMV director, Richard Church, will take the chief operating officer role, and Quba co-founder, Jim Hartley, will become sales director.
SAS Daniels advised the buy-in management team, while London and Exeter-based solicitors, Ashford, advised existing shareholders and management in a team led by Louise Workman and included Angus Bower, Charles Pallott and Tom Potts.
Nick Allen commented: “These are exciting times for Quba and I am very much looking forward to working with Jim, Richard and the rest of the team.
“This new investment will provide great support as we work to implement Quba’s plans to develop its product range and to reach an international market.”
Head of corporate at SAS Daniels, Jeremy Orrell, led a team which included Lorna Bennett and Martyn Heyes.
Mr Orrell commented: “The retail sector has been in the doldrums, but the right businesses can thrive with the right guidance, so it is good to see the investment in Quba.
“This is a clear sign of the confidence our clients have in the brand and we are really looking forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
