Solicitor leads the way with private client role
A North East law firm is welcoming a new solicitor to lead its Private Client Services division.
Emma Pringle, a specialist in private client law, has joined the team at Clarke Mairs LLP in Newcastle city centre.
Prior to joining Clarke Mairs, Emma worked in both the Newcastle and Carlisle branches of a leading North East legal 500 firm, after spending almost five years as an associate solicitor at Cheshire-based firm, Gorvins.
Emma, who lives in Ponteland, completed her law degree at the University of Northumbria, and qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
At Clarke Mairs, Emma will head up the Private Client Services department, and will advise clients on all aspects of wills and estate planning, including the use of trusts.
Emma is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. Members assist families in planning their long term future, and help families to comply with the often complex tax rules surrounding trusts, estates and inheritance.
Additionally, Emma is a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly, meaning she is an expert in advising clients on all aspects of care home fees and court of protection matters. In her new role, she will make use of her experience in the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney for both health and welfare, and property and affairs matters.
Emma said: “I am delighted to join the team at Clarke Mairs. The firm has a solid reputation, along with a commendable enthusiasm towards client satisfaction. I am very much looking forward to working alongside some superb lawyers and driving forward the private client department.”
Tim Clarke, senior partner at Clarke Mairs, said: “We’re very pleased to appoint Emma at the helm of our Private Client Services division. She has the character that we look for in new employees, as well as a vast amount of skill and expertise in this area of law.
“We launched this division three years ago to reflect the need for expert advice for our commercial clients when they consider their personal matters, and we are confident that it will continue to grow successfully under Emma’s leadership.”
In her spare time, Emma enjoys running and will be taking part in her sixth Great North Run this year. In previous runs, Emma has raised money for Parkinson’s UK and Cancer Research UK.
Clarke Mairs offers legal services to businesses and individuals nationwide with services including commercial property, insolvency, company and employment law.
