Yorkshire company third time winner at National Awards
For the third time, a Yorkshire company has been recognised at a national awards ceremony for its commitment to training and staff development.
Brick-Tie Ltd, based in Sherburn in Elmet, has been honoured by UK trade body the Property Care Association (PCA) at its annual awards event held at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
Brick-Tie Ltd specialises in cavity wall ties, structural repair, damp and timber repairs and was established in 1986.
Bryan Hindle, the managing director of the company, said: “It’s great for our team to be recognised by the PCA in this way.
“It’s no surprise that these days, firms who have maintained or increased their expenditure on staff training and development are thriving.
“The construction industry has faced a tough few years here in Yorkshire and nationally, so it is more important than ever for companies to offer a good service and spend some money on staff development and training, when times are hard.
“Money is in short supply and clients are naturally looking for value. However, they are mindful of wasting money too, by buying a poor service or inadequate product.
“If anything, this natural caution presents opportunities for high quality companies to add value to their businesses, harnessing staff skills to drive business up.”
Chief executive of the PCA, Stephen Hodgson, said: “Brick-Tie has impressed us with the quality and breadth of their training, as well as their mentoring of others in the industry.”
