Thorite secures ninth successive Investor in People award

For the ninth year in succession Bradford-based Thorite has maintained the prestigious Investors in People standard, acknowledging the company’s continued commitment to its employees and demonstrating a solid foundation of good working practice.

Thorite is the UK’s biggest distributor of pneumatic products and process systems and has been part of the Investors in People organisation since 2005, using the framework to support continuous improvement within the company to fully realise their staff’s potential and the benefits this can bring.

This makes Thorite part of the exclusive group of 35,000 organisations that are recognised with the standard across the country, eligible to use and display the sought-after Investors in People logo and the prestige this brings.

Commenting on the award Stephen Wright, Thorite’s managing director said: “Our people are our greatest asset. The hard work that everyone has contributed since 2005 to gain and maintain the Investors in People award, from shop floor to management, has increased job satisfaction, improved the working environment and enabled personal performance to be recognised and developed.

“We continue to see improvements in our day to day business, simply because everyone at Thorite appreciates the rewards that motivation brings.”

Chris Jones, head of operations at idg, the Investors in People Centre for the North of England, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Thorite and I would like to congratulate the whole team on their commitment to continuous improvement.”

A family-owned business since 1850, Thorite has grown to create a regional network of ten sales and service centres located in Blackburn, Bolton, Bradford, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Leeds, Rochdale, Sheffield, North Shields and Brierley Hill in the West Midlands.
