Energy saving firm signs £30k football deal
A Teesside energy saving company has signed a new £30,000 sponsorship deal with a local football club.
The CosySeal Group, based in Stockton, has agreed the two-year shirt deal with EvoStick League club Darlington, who won the Ebac Northern League title last season.
Darlington, who play their home games at Bishop Auckland FC’s Heritage Park, say the deal is a “real coup”.
Quakers were plunged into crisis last summer after they were relegated four leagues following a crippling administration.
But they bounced back by winning the Northern League at the first attempt earlier this year as they attempt to climb back up the leagues.
The CosySeal Group is a family-run business with a national reputation for providing high quality energy saving solutions for homes and offices.
The firm’s managing director Paul Gaffney said: “We see this as a great opportunity to grow alongside Darlington FC – both sharing similarities in terms of drive and ambition – and we are pleased to be associated with the club.
“The two-year agreement can assist CosySeal in developing a greater local awareness and help us consolidate our position in the market.
“During which time we are confident that the club can build on their fantastic success from last season and reach even greater heights.”
DFC’s commercial manager Verony Chalmers added: “This kind of commitment over a two years is a real coup for the club and demonstrates the belief and understanding that local businesses and community partners are showing in building a fan owned club as an integral part of the community that can be of mutual benefit.”
CosySeal has more than doubled its workforce in the last year by recruiting 50-plus workers – and it is still recruiting.
As part of their agreement with DFC, CosySeal will be the match day sponsors for the opening home game of the season.
