West Mids web design firm expanding

A Midlands web design company has set its sights on trebling the size of the business after enjoying major growth.

Edit Websites Ltd, based at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Blythe Valley Innovation Centre near Solihull, has grown 40 per cent over the past year.

Managing Director Kyle Cottington spotted a gap in the market to create software which makes it is easy for anyone to create and maintain a website.

The firm launched website software for businesses, schools, charities and churches that has led to an influx of new client wins, with over 850 organisations across the UK and internationally now on Edit Websites’ books.

Kyle said seeing companies charging expensive fees to design websites and then adding further costs to make changes drove him to set-up the business.

“Our software is really simple to use, but extremely effective and allows us to help businesses and organisations create and maintain their own website for one low annual fee,” he said.

“Changes can be made easily by clients at their end, and we’ve created online video tutorials that can be watched at anytime. Should anyone need help, our team are always on the end of the phone to offer website support.

“If the growth continues at the rate it is then the company will treble in size within three years.”

Kyle said word of mouth is the company’s main marketing tool, along with a referral scheme Edit Websites has launched.

He added: “We get a lot of business coming to us which is great and we’re constantly developing the software and adding new features.

“Moving into the Innovation Centre last year has suited us perfectly as we’ve got the option to grow when it suits us. We’re really pleased with how far we’ve come in a short space of time and over the next few months we’ll be looking to strengthen the team to help take us to the next level.”

Nigel Shaw, centre manager at the University of Warwick Science Park Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, added: “Kyle and his team have developed fantastic products and it’s no surprise their customer base has grown substantially recently.

“It cannot be underestimated just how important having a good website for a business is, and the simplicity and flexibility Edit Websites Ltd offer their clients is what sets them apart from their competitors.”
