Search Laboratory shortlisted in National Business Awards

Leeds-based Search Laboratory, which has created 70 jobs in the city over the last year, will be the North of England’s sole representative as it was confirmed on the shortlist of ten companies in the running for the Santander Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year category of the National Business Awards.

Finalist for a second year running, Search Laboratory is a global leader in search engine marketing, specialising in English and multilingual search engine optimisation (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) campaign and bid management, analytics and conversion optimisation.

Its customers span many sectors, from fashion and retail to telecoms and technology.

The company has more than 250 clients located in 18 countries worldwide including ASOS and Debenhams.

Search Laboratory’s key differentiators are its multilingual services, which are delivered by a team comprised exclusively of first language linguists; a mathematical and technical approach that’s led to the development of several bespoke proprietary software tools; and a consumer-centric ethos to make the internet a better place for users.

Stephen Dury, managing director of SME markets at Santander Corporate & Commercial and shortlist panel member, said: “Search Laboratory continues to deliver standout growth in their sector. Their commitment to innovation, first class client service and investment in their people has helped the team at Search Laboratory to deepen relationships with existing clients and acquire many new leading brand customers on an international stage.

“Search Laboratory is extremely well placed for future years to build on their excellent growth to date and remain an example to others on how to approach employee development and engagement.”

John Readman, commercial director at Search Laboratory, said: “As a company we’ve grown at an incredible rate over the last year creating over 70 jobs in Leeds, but have still managed to maintain the high standards our clients have come to expect and I feel being shortlisted for this award is recognition of this.”
