The week’s North West appointments
Last week saw a number of moves and appointments in the North West. Here, Bdaily gives a roundup of some of the significant manoeuvres.
Lancashire and Cumbria commercial law firm, Harrison Drury, has appointed experienced corporate lawyer, Brett Cooper, as it targets further growth and geographic expansion.
Mr Cooper joins Harrison Drury from TH Commercial in Cumbria, previously part of Temple Heelis Solicitors, where he was a partner.
He will join the firm with a range of commercial expertise, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and commercial agreements.
North West NHS board, TRUSTECH, has appointed entrepreneur John Leach to its board as a non-executive director.
Mr Leach founded the Winning Pitch consultancy in 2006, with an aim to help start-ups, SMEs and larger companies to create value from new ideas.
TRUSTECH said his appointment will boost their ability to identify and develop innovative healthcare products and services, working with both companies and the NHS.
Elsewhere, investment management firm Smith & Williamson appointed Lee Blackshaw as head of its Manchester private client tax services team.
This appointment follows Andrew McKenna’s promotion to head of Smith & Williamson’s Manchester office.
Mr Blackshaw spent six years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Manchester, where he assisted entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses with their tax planning.
In the law sector, Jonathan Guilford joined Pannone’s white label legal arm, Pannone Affinity, as a consultant.
Mr Guildford was instrumental in the creation of Co-operative Legal Services (CLS) as he joined the Co-operative Group in 2006 and helped grow CLS from nothing to a turnover of £30m.
Recruiter, Stark Brooks, announced it has bolstered its teams on both sides of the Pennines.
Natasha Hopkins has joined the firm’s Manchester headquarters from Prime Time Recruitment, while Jessica Dodd, a law with criminology graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, joined the Leeds office as a trainee consultant.
