Seddon begin work on £5.1m care home
Bolton-based builders, Seddon, have started work on a £5.1m care home in Banks, near Southport.
The home will belong to Cinnamon Care Capital and will be run by national operator, Barchester Healthcare - creating 60 jobs.
The two-storey, 70-bed building was designed by Condy Lofthouse Architects and is due to be finished in August 2014.
John Gilman, national pre-construction manager for care sector projects for Seddon, says: “We’re delighted to be using our expertise in creating high-quality, modern care homes to build this brand-new facility.
“By working with our clients from the outset we ensure the design and specification meet all their requirements; the experience of our team ensures we deliver construction quality of the highest standard.”
The contract was negotiated by Seddon who identified the site and obtained planning permission. This is Seddon’s second development for Barchester and follows the successful development of a 50-bed care home known as Cheshire Grange, in Lymm,Cheshire.
