New jobs created as ubu invests in Nottingham
A Harrogate-based care provider has continued to roll out its innovative accommodation model with the opening of 15 state-of-the-art apartments in Nottingham.
ubu has developed the ´uStep` model, which provides 24-hour support for vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and challenging behavior.
As funding for vulnerable adults has changed and pressure has increased on providers to offer more for less, the company has continued to successfully roll out new initiatives and currently cares for more than 400 people in the North of England and Midlands.
The 15 apartments in Nottingham are five years old and have undergone investment and refurbishment to bring them up to the best possible standard.
They are part of a larger complex and will be home to existing and new customers of the care provider.
The investment will create ten new jobs as enablers are redeployed from existing settings and new staff recruited and trained.
Other recent openings of the uStep model include one in Harrogate, where 40 apartments close to the town centre opened at two locations and Morley, near Leeds, where the care provider took over 20 apartments at the landmark Sovereign Mill.
