Brighouse care company launch to create 50 jobs
Local lady, Sati Salona, has set up a new service, specialising in caring for older people and is looking to create 50 new jobs in the West Yorkshire area in the next 12 months.
Home Instead Senior Care, based in Brighouse, will serve clients across the area including Calderdale, Brighouse, Halifax, Illingworth, Hebden Bridge, Cleckheaton, Todmorden and the Spen Valley, providing care and companionship that will enable older people to remain in their own homes for longer.
Sati (34) always had an interest in social care and studied Social and Public policies at the University of Sheffield. Her experience within the social care sector coupled with her family circumstances, were key to her setting up this new venture.
Commenting, Sati said: “When my grandad had to go into a care home I was shocked at the poor level of care he received and I knew there had to be a better way to provide care for older people. I made the decision to do something about it which would allow me to make a difference in my local community.
“Home Instead provides a tailor-made care package to suit each individual’s needs which can include meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping and personal care but where we really differ is our focus on companionship and matching our clients with caregivers who share similar interests, allowing firm friendships to be formed.
“Social stimulation is proven to help older people to remain independent and active for longer and as such, we encourage our clients to engage with members of the local community, as well as continuing to pursue existing hobbies and interests and to take up new ones.” Sati is keen to talk to kind, compassionate and like-minded individuals with a variety of different interests and experiences.
Those who may have never considered a career in care before but have a few hours a week to spare and would like to make a difference to the lives of older people in the local area, in particularly through befriending, will be provided with all the necessary training.
Already an active member of the community Sati is also looking for local Calderdale charities to work with and fundraise for, in particular those who support older people.
