Family event to take off on Newcastle Quayside

A fun-packed family day will be making a splash next weekend (Saturday August 3) in Newcastle thanks to local holiday company, Dawson and Sanderson.

The event will take place on the white sands of NE1 Quayside Seaside (near to the Pitcher and Piano) from 11am-3pm and there will be free face painters, balloonists and Zumba demonstrations from the Gateshead-based Dance Fuse. Dawson and Sanderson staff will also be serving sweet treats from the company’s ice cream van, which makes its first appearance at the event.

The day will also showcase a range of exclusive summer holiday deals in 2014 including the lowest deposits available on the high street, up to £125 discount on all inclusive family holidays and free places for children.

Nicola Spence, general manager – Sales and Service at Dawson and Sanderson said: “This is the first event we have ever held on Newcastle’s Quayside. It’s a fabulous backdrop to get everyone in the holiday mood with its sandy beach, deck chairs and buckets and spades and we hope it will be a fun day out. We know how hard it is to keep children occupied over the summer so hopefully we’ll be offering parents free entertainment as well as a bargain for next year’s holiday.”

Dawson and Sanderson is a North East family firm with 21 branches across the region, employing 250 local people and has sent more than 6.5 million people on holiday over the last 50 years. The company was also voted Travel Agent of the Year at the Travel Weekly Awards earlier this year.

The promotion is being staged in association with Jet 2 Holidays and staff from Dawson and Sanderson will be on hand to discuss deals for next year’s holidays.

Dawson and Sanderson’s new savings scheme, www.holidaypiggybank.co.uk was also launched this year to help customers to spread payments of their holidays and staff will be available to answer any questions.

Dawson and Sanderson will also be serving free ice creams on Northumberland Street near to Ridley Place on August 17 and 24 and September 21 as part of its summer 2014 promotion.
