Hebburn software house eye further growth
A South Tyneside software house is eyeing growth after recruiting four new members of staff and experiencing increased year-on-year growth.
Hebburn-based Nine specialise in bespoke software solutions for businesses who can’t find a suitable off-the-shelf option on the open market.
The firm was founded in 2011 and works with public sector organisations including the NHS; a variety of companies in the engineering and oil and gas sectors, and more recently with clients in the utilities and retail sectors.
Now, the team has been boosted with the appointment of Helen Lee, who has been brought in to the new role of business development manager to drive continued growth.
As an experienced business development and marketing professional Helen has a strong commercial background having worked for SMEs, educational institutions and large corporates in the region including Ward Hadaway, Barclays, Sunderland University and Narec.
She said: “Nine is a fantastic example of some of the world-class and truly innovative work that is taking place right here in the North East, and I jumped at the chance of becoming part of the team. Nine is growing at a phenomenal rate, it’s an exciting place to be; working alongside a hugely talented team and some great clients.”
Andy Walton, managing director, Nine, said: “This is a really exciting time for Nine, which is reflected in the rate at which we’ve been growing. We’re now in the position where we can move into a number of new markets and with her impressive track record, Helen will play an important part in bringing that about.
“Because we focus solely on creating truly bespoke software solutions for our clients, the strength and depth of our team is critical. Investing in our team and recruiting high calibre people means we are in a strong position to work on an exciting range of projects for clients around the world.”
The company has also added to its technical expertise with the appointment of Jason Watson, David Loxham, and Gary Emery as Software Developers.
Jason has joined the team at Nine after relocating to the North East from Preston. He has a masters degree in computer science from Lancaster University and will focus on software and Apple iOS development for a number of Nine’s public sector clients such as the NHS and various housing associations in the region.
David comes to Nine with a background in developing software and mobile apps targeted at financial advisers and their clients, while Gary has over five years’ experience of developing innovative software applications.
Their experience in complex software solutions will be used in developing solutions for Nine’s growing customer base in the oil and gas sector.
Andy Walton continued: “More and more companies are approaching us to seek software solutions to an increasing variety of complex problems so the skills and expertise that David, Jason and Gary bring will help us continue to create the innovative solutions that our clients expect from us, and I’m delighted that they’re part of the Nine team.”
Nine’s name comes from the idea of ‘a stitch in time saves nine.’
