Newcastle market research firm handed to next generation
A Newcastle family-run market research business is being handed over to the next generation, as the two founders retire.
Joy Maxwell and Judith Scrivener were in their mid forties when they set up Survey Marketing Services (SMS) Ltd in 1985.
The independent market research firm now employs 20 full time staff and over 1000 flexible country-wide workers in the field.
Joy’s son Nicholas and Judith’s daughter, Lesley Wright, are now taking the reins to drive growth.
Both have have worked within the business for many years and are specialists in their field.
Lesley said: “We’re delighted to be taking over the reins at such a key stage in the development of the company. We pride ourselves with keeping abreast of the latest research methodologies and have ambitious plans for growth and hope to be increasing the workforce in the near future.”
SMS work across a wide breadth of sectors including FMCG, public sector and third sector, and service blue chip companies.
