NE and Yorkshire chefs relishing the Latest
Relish Publications have been overwhelmed by the success of their latest publication. Combining the Relish North East and Relish Yorkshire books into a single bumper edition was the ambition for 2013, and the launch took place on July 30th at Swinton Park with over 20 of the regions finest chefs and their teams celebrating this launch.
Teresa Peters from Relish Publications commented: ‘We are now onto our 14th edition and the response to the new book from our local chefs and restaurateurs has been excellent. Whilst the Relish brand is respected across the UK, as a North East girl, I’m so proud to be involved in placing the North East and Yorkshire on the culinary map. There are some gifted chefs and fabulous restaurants in the North and many chefs hide away from the camera because their passion is to cook. The Relish books give them an opportunity to shine and display their array of talents. As well as offering stunning photography we also have a recommended wine with each course - a very important element when cooking for friends!’
Relish Publications scooped the signature of Si King from the Hairy Bikers who wrote the foreword for the latest book, and was excited about the prospect of promoting the fantastic local produce from the North East and Yorkshire, and also the wonderful range of restaurants in the region, and range of culinary skill available. Joining Si King who champions the North East is James Martin who has also provided a foreword for the book, and acknowledges the outstanding contribution of Yorkshire fine dining establishments. James Martin’s own establishment The Talbot Hotel in Malton features in the book, and so he was keen to demonstrate his passion for the region.
A new feature for this book will be a Relish Rewards card, which will feature incentives and promotions from selected participating restaurants, which offers great added value when purchasing the book. The new book will also be one of the first to be available as both a hard back and as an e-book.
Duncan Peters from Relish Publications explained the innovations at Relish since the original Relish North East launched in 2011: ‘We wanted to make sure our books reflected the very finest restaurants who participate, and so we have always focussed on exclusive recipes, great photography and detailed profiles, which offer the reader a great insight into fine dining in each region. Now we have a rewards card in place, which adds real value to the product. As e-readers have advanced rapidly in the last 2 years, to feature full colour HD graphics, we also felt it was now appropriate to move online, so these high quality books could be available on Kindle HD and Ipad, alongside other quality tablet devices.’
