Birthday bash hopes revellers shell out
Organisers of the north east Oyster Festival are hoping guests will shell out the cash in aid of charity next month.
The tenth festival takes place at Hardwick Hall Hotel on Friday 20th September and will be raising much-needed funds for local charity Daisy Chain.
The festival has raised more than £450,000 for charities since the first event in 2004 and the most ever raised at the event in one year was £52,000.
John Adamson, Managing Director of Ramside Estates, said: “Daisy Chain is our chosen charity this year, simply because of the fantastic work they do with autistic children and their families in the north east.
“We have a brilliant relationship with the charity and with it being the tenth anniversary of the festival; we’d love to raise more than ever before.
“We’ve already managed to raise an impressive amount of money for charity over the past nine festivals, but I’m hoping the tenth anniversary will see us go past the half a million mark.”
Daisy Chain, based in Norton, was established in 2003 and provides a range of services including support and activity groups for families with autistic children.
Matt Simpson, Chief Executive of Daisy Chain, said: “Once again, it’s great to be working with John and the team at Ramside Estates, particularly on such a prestigious event.
“Fundraising opportunities like this are vital to our ongoing work and to the families we support.”
Highlights of the event include live performances from Britain’s Got Talent comic pianist Kev Orkian, soul diva Diane Shaw, the Wildcats of Kilkenny and the Singing Irish Waiters.
Since 2004 the Oyster Festival has been one of the highlights of the north east social calendar, attracting more than 900 people each year from across the region.
There is a selection of tickets still available for the tenth anniversary Oyster Festival.
Tickets are priced at £140+VAT per person. To book or for further information please call 01740 620253 or call dawn.coates@hardwickhallhotel.co.uk
