Construction group announces £20m turnover increase
Eric Wright Group, the Preston-based construction, civil engineering, property and facilities management specialist, has announced a £20m rise in its turnover.
The company, involved in several major projects across the North West, has also reported an overall increase in net profit to £6.5m during 2012, with a strong pipeline of orders for the next financial year.
The Group has secured five contracts totalling in excess of £26m. Spanning the North West, these contracts include a £10.4m extension and new build project for Knowsley-based Maro Developments, an £8.1m project to design and build a four-storey engineering facility at Lancaster University and a contract to design and construct a £2.8m, five-storey extension to the existing enterprise centre at Bury College.
It has also been awarded a £2.5m contract to deliver a two-storey extension to Victrex Technology Centre in Thornton Cleveleys and work has just started on a £2.1m project to build an athletics facility at Witton Park in Blackburn.
Group managing director Jeremy Hartley said:“We have had an exceptionally busy tendering period over recent months so are delighted to have secured these contracts. Considering the ongoing challenges of the industry, it’s a positive sign that a number of clients are ready to progress with their building works.
“With projects taking between 29 and 60 weeks to complete, we are pleased to have strengthened our pipeline of work for the forthcoming year.”
