Key recruit for Weightmans real estate team
Leading law firm Weightmans LLP has boosted its Real Estate department, appointing a new associate in the firm’s Liverpool office.
Tony Parry, formerly legal director at Hill Dickinson, is a commercial property lawyer and specialises in landlord and tenant work. He has a wide range of commercial property experience dealing with property finance, management, acquisitions and disposals and has acted for a number of substantial high street retailers.
His current clients include the Steinhoff Group, one of the largest combined furniture retailers in the UK, trading under the brands Harveys the Furniture Store and Benson for Beds.
The recruitment comes amid a period of great expansion and growth for the team and firm as a whole, following the promotion of real estate associate Matthew Williamson to the partnership in May and the appointment of Ben Acheson and James Cullen as Partners in June.
Mr Parry said: “I am delighted to have joined a strong property and construction team and to be enhancing the team of solicitors acting for retailers in the current challenging times.”
Karl Jackson, partner and head of the national real estate team at Weightmans said:“We are delighted to welcome Tony on board. He is the latest appointment to our real estate team and comes with extensive experience and client base.
“Our real estate offering is in a strong position with the recent expansion to our national service and this will be further boosted by Tony’s arrival.”
Weightmans now employs more 1200, including partners and staff, with offices in Birmingham, Dartford, Glasgow, Knutsford, Leicester, Liverpool, London and Manchester
