Newcastle ambassador unveiled for travel firm

The director of a North East travel consultancy has been unveiled as Newcastle upon Tyne ambassador for a businesswomen’s travel network.

Lizzie Adamson-Brown, director of Newcastle based Executive Travel Consultants, is to act in an ambassadorial capacity for maiden-voyage.com after discovering the site whilst researching restaurants in the USA for a female client.

She said: “My client was staying there for over a week, but felt uncomfortable traveling, eating and drinking alone. She wanted to look at alternatives to eating room service and working into the evenings in her hotel room.”

Lizzie, who has spent over 10 years in the travel industry, acknowledges Newcastle has a lot to offer. “Although not originally from Newcastle, I adore the area and have adopted the area and the people as my own. I am passionate about getting Newcastle firmly on the map. I network extensively and there is so much talent out there…it’s time we shouted out loud what we have in our area.”

Ambassador City Guides have been designed to assist members in getting the most from their business trips and to create an on and off-line community amongst our global membership of professional women.

Executive Travel Consultants arrange business travel from air tickets, hotel rooms, car hire and VIP airport lounges, attempting to tap into the purported £2.5bn UK SME’s spend on travel every year.

Lizzie said: “One of the reasons I set up our consultancy was to provide a very personalised service to my clients. I am passionate about safety and as part of our service at Executive Travel Consultants, we keep our clients up to date with the latest Foreign and Commonwealth Advice, as well as writing safety guides and tips on local customs for their destination.

“Not only does this help keep travellers safe, but it also helps them conduct business in a more informed way, avoiding any faux-pas and giving them the edge when it comes to getting that all important contract signed.

“maiden-voyage.com works very well alongside our Travel Consultancy and provides an extra service to our female clients.

Launched in 2008, www.maiden-voyage.com, based in Leeds, is the brainchild of British Entrepreneur Carolyn Pearson, who came up with the idea while travelling alone on business.

The site provides a secure social network through which members can meet other ladies whilst away on business, source female friendly hotels with exclusive member offers and access travel and personal safety tips and advice. The site is supported by a global team of ambassadors, a safe and reliable contact for inbound female business travellers.
