Region's bright young things get set to shine
The region’s bright young things will be given a chance to shine this autumn, when a new networking club with a twist launches on the North East business scene.
Targeted at 20 to 35 year-old business professionals, SHINE plans to host a series of inspiring and motivational events geared specifically at helping young people develop their business and personal connections along with learning the art of networking amongst their peers.
Headed up by four of the region’s rising stars; Tait Walker marketing manager Kirsty Ramsey, Creative Events Partnership’s Victoria Rought, OPR’s Frances Ratliff and designer and marketer Amanda Tate; the SHINE organisers all have a common goal – bringing the decision makers of tomorrow together under one roof.
Organiser Kirsty Ramsey said: “This isn’t just an excuse for a few out-of-hours drinks; these events will be energetic, relevant and will most importantly connect with the region’s young business community, on both a business and a personal level, highlighting the power of networking via real life success stories – people who can bring to life their journey’s and inspire others to do the same.”
Organiser Frances Ratliff said: “Self-development is at the heart of SHINE and these events will offer an opportunity for attendees to do just that. Our events will be held in some exciting venues where young people can relax and enjoy networking.”
Fellow organiser Victoria Rought added: “The SHINE organisers are keen to keep events as dynamic and relevant as possible. Over the course of the next twelve months we’ll be rolling out a programme which we’re confident will get young professionals immersed in the art of building up their networking skills.”
SHINE will kick off proceedings on the evening of Wednesday 11thSeptember, at The Kitchen @Osbournes in Jesmond, when guest speaker Jules Quinn, of TeaShed, will talk about the power of networking.
Event speaker and business entrepreneur Jules Quinn said: “Being a young person in business is challenging and therefore it is important to have as much support and encouragement as possible.
“Having people around you who care is vital and anything, which gives this support to young people, must be applauded. Sometimes all you need is for someone to say, ‘don’t worry, you are doing well – keep going”.
Tickets cost £12 and all net proceeds will go to The Prince’s Trust – a charity which is synonymous with improving the life chances of young people, helping them to develop their skills and take their full place in society.
