Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Become Investors in People (IiP) Champion
Offering acute hospital care and other services to over 200,000 residents in the Gateshead area and with a team of over 3200 employees, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust plays a significant role in their local area – supporting both the health of the population and its economy.
Investors in People since 1996 and holders of the Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award from IiP too, the Trust is now taking on a new role and joining other Investors in People Champions based across the North of England in promoting and supporting the framework through best practice activities.
By becoming an IiP Champion, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to sharing and also learning from their experiences, encouraging good practice across the region and supporting continuous improvement.
Celebrating their new role, Yvonne Ormston, Deputy Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted to be an Investors in People Champion. This is an excellent endorsement of our longstanding association with the Standard and of our commitment to improving our people practices for the benefit of our staff and the population we serve.“
Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust started work with Investors in People as a way to continuously develop and improve their organisation – seeing it as a way to support their employees and ultimately improve the quality and safety of patient care within the Trust.
Following an IiP journey of over a decade so far, they are hoping to use their new role as Investors in People Champion to share their experiences and the lessons they have learnt along the way – supporting others to explore the framework and achieve improved performance through people.
